As Richard Dawkins says, we would never call a child a Marxist, Democrat or Republican child even if both its parents were Marxists, Democrats or Republicans. The same principle follows when it comes to religion. Why, just why, should religion be such an integral part of a child's identity; of anybody's identity? Aren't name, family and nationality enough?
Interestingly enaugh according to biblical Christianity you are not born Christian, so I don't know what kind of a person would think you were born into a particular religion

Yes, the idea of a child being born into a particular religion is absolutely ludicrous. I mean, it's not just a form of intellectual, ideological and possibly psychological child abuse, it's just utterly absurd. How many people truly believe that a newborn understands such concepts of virgin and virgin birth? Or crucifiction (deliberate mispelling, btw)? How could a child possibly be born a Christian? Are there Christians that think that God just programmed into newborns' mind/souls the understanding of Jesus?
A person uninformed in the areas of the Cognitive Sciences might well speculate that such ideas may well be cognitive implants given the number of religions aside from Christianity that have invoked virgin births and crucifixions.
