Spore is evil. Fuck Spore.

No, not in the 'Spore promotes evil Darwinism!' kind of way. I'm talking about the DRM kind of evil.

Ever since Spore was released, I've had loads of e-mails asking me about it. Sorry to disappoint, but I am not going to buy it.

It is pretty simple: Game has DRM shit on it -----> Not giving them my money.

No exceptions.

I don't care how much people are salivating over the game. I don't care how cute those Spore creatures may or may not look. If EA wants to use draconian, evil, DRM shit to treat paying customers like filthy criminals, I am not going to give them a cent of my money. I will not spend a shitton of money on a game that requires me to activate over the internet and places a limit of three activations (Shock! Horror! WTF?). I will not support a game that promotes this sort of CRAP. I will not tolerate being prematurely treated as a pirating thief after spending my my hard-earned money on those those DRM-loving idiots.

tl;dr version: I will not support this fucking piece of shit.

The most ironic thing about this is that the DRM shit does not do a thing to prevent piracy. Spore was apparently already available and nicely torrented nearly a week before launch. (Piracy is bad, kids. Don't even think about getting the cracked version. Seriously.) Nobody who wants to pirate will be affected at all by the ridiculous install restrictions.

If EA is going to be whining about the money they are losing to piracy, that is exactly why they should understand that the DRM crap is anything but reasonable. They are going to lose more money from the damage they are doing to their name by using draconian methods in their FAIL quest to stop the pirates; and I am sure that there are people who would have otherwise bought the game that are now not buying the it or have simply decided to go with the pirated version. In the end, EA is going to lose more money because of their irrational stupidity.

tl; dr: LULZ.

When law-abiding customers get treated like criminals while pirates end up having lulz at the DRM idiots' expense, the draconian DRM fools have already lost the game; and I see no reason to support this travesty.

Fuck Spore. Fuck DRM. I'll take my money elsewhere, thank you very much.
